Surgery successful (so far!)

Published 28 days ago • 1 min read

Hi, everyone!

Today is Day 7 post-op from my spine fusion surgery. The surgeon fused the L5-S1 vertebrae. So far, I'm doing very well! Although some have reported doing well initially and have serious problems crop up 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 months, etc., later, I'm staying positive and continue to "hope" for the best!

Thanks to those of you who thought of me during the surgery last week and continued recovery.

By the way, my daughter says I'm a "wimp" because I just had the two fused, and she had the L4-L5-S1 done about 10 years ago!

You can always count on your kids to keep you humble! No matter what age they are.

I hope you are planning a summer vacation (or fall or winter!) Last week, I left you thinking of visiting all 50 US States! Here's a link to a post about a trip I took a few years ago to drive through every state east of the Mississippi River!

During that trip, I touched about 7 or 8 states I hadn't revisited since 2014, when I "started over" to visit all 50 a second time!

Next time....

Towering above the lush landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands, Mauna Kea stands as the world's tallest mountain, a majestic giant that defies expectations. Many of the places I research benefit everyone, including me! However, I’ve been to the top of this one in Hawaii. It's amazing how, at the base, it’ll be 80 degrees, but on top of the mountain, it'll be about 35 degrees! And the windchill brought it down to a “real feel” in the teens! Not typical for Hawaii! At an impressive height of 33,500...

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of southwestern Colorado, Mesa Verde National Park stands as a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of ancient Puebloan cultures. Here’s another in a series on “Most Historic” in each state. This ancient civilization lived from 300 BCE to 1300 BCE. I’d call that historic! This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a true historic marvel, offering visitors a captivating glimpse into the lives of those who called these lands home centuries ago. 🗿 As you wander...

While it’s just under 15 miles, the road dates back to 1826! 🌼 (The image is generated with AI to represent scenery Connecticut.) Winding through the rolling hills and lush forests of...
